March Events at the Audubon Zoo!

It’s the perfect time of the year for festivals and outdoor activities. The Audubon Nature Institute offers a full line up of activities for the entire family. Here’s what’s happening in March:

9th Annual Soul Fest {March 3 & 4}

“Celebrate African American Heritage Audubon Style!” This unique festival, one of the largest of its kind in New Orleans, features soulful cuisine, live music, one-of-a-kind crafts and FREE health information. It wouldn’t be a festival without music! Soul Fest promises a diverse musical line up both days at the Zoo’s Capital One Stage including Irvin Mayfield and The Playhouse Review closing out the Fest Sunday afternoon. Hornets Swarm the Audubon Zoo {March 11, 12-3 pm}

Earth Fest {March 17 & 18}

Earth Fest is a fun way for zoo visitors to learn about saving the environment. The ARC of Greater New Orleans will accept beads for recycling outside the Zoo on both days of Earth Fest.  Bring in at least a dozen beads and get a coupon for $3 off adult or $2 off child admission.  Coupon is good for up to 4 admissions and is valid for either March 17 or March 18, 2012. Grossology {New Exhibit at the Aquarium of the Americas}

Now through September 2012 experience some of the slimiest, stinkiest and downright yuckiest creatures on earth!



 Oozing with disgusting science and interactive learning games the new “Animal Grossology” exhibit takes a slightly different view of the animal kingdom. Click here for more info on Grossology!

 

 

Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium
