I am always looking for activities that “GC” , who is 7, and I can enjoy together. This weekend, we made soap shower favors for my friend who is expecting twin girls. We used a large block of clear glycerin soap, soap coloring, lavander scent, and candy molds. First, you melt the clear glycerin soap to make approximately 4-6 oz. when melted. I melted ours in a glass measuring cup in the microwave for 30 secs. Let the adult do this part because it is hot after melting. Then stir in 1-5 drops of scent for every ounce and the desired amount of coloring. “GC” added the coloring and scent while I stirred. Then pour into desired mold. Let dry for about an hour to two hours and then pop out of mold. For the baby shower, we made pink soap in the shapes of baby items such as blocks, rocking horses, and rubber ducks. For fun we used candy molds in the shape of airplanes and chose red and blue for our colors.
We both had a great time making this that I wanted to share and the added bonus is “GC” is excited to take a bath and use the soap he made!
