Louisiana’s Governor Bobby Jindal declared a day of prayer for the gulf coast in the wake of the oil spill. The Bible says: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him” (1 John 5:14-15).
Please pray for God to give comfort to the 11 families who lost a loved one in the explosion, for Him to work through those in charge of stopping the leak and provide them with a plan, for the fisherman and those dependent on the water to provide for their families, for the wildlife in harms way, for the land affected by the oil, and for a peaceful hurricane season.
SR 145 states that “citizens are urged to pray for a solution to this crisis, each according to his or her own faith, to pray for God’s continued guidance and protection and to join in the observance of a day of prayer, seeking God’s blessings upon both our state and nation.”
