First, let me say how excited I am to be co-hosting this blog hop with Katherine! I have been linking my favorite posts to her beautiful site for a while and because of it, I have had the opportunity to follow many blogs that I really enjoy!
I was torn about what to write about for today’s blog-hop but finally decided on sharing why I chose the title Nola Mommy for my blog. First, I am a mom to 2 boys and was born and raised in the New Orleans (NOLA) area. I am sure everyone is familiar with the song lyrics, “You don’t know what you got till it’s gone,” and that is exactly how I felt about my hometown back in 2005. I didn’t realize how special and unique the city of New Orleans truly is until the thought of it being gone became a reality after the landfall of Hurricane Katrina. Now I make an effort to ensure my sons get the chance to experience things that are “Naturally New Orleans!” including the food, music, and culture. Here are a two of my favorite pictures of NOLA:

Hello! Thanks for co-hosting. Your post brought tears to my eyes! My husband is from New Orleans, and we lived there after we were first married. My in-laws (including my sister in law and her family) lived with us here in Alabama after Katrina, but they are home now. We visit New Orleans often, and my husband will be down there this weekend. I hope you enjoyed Mardi Gras. We cancelled our trip due to Saturday’s storms.
