If you follow this blog then you know that I LOVE to showcase everything and anything New Orleans! It’s the people, food, culture, and long list of traditions that make this place so special to everyone who lives here and to those who visit for a short while. Next month from November 4 through November 6, 2011, Moms from all over the country will be treated to some good ‘ole Southern hospitality as part of the Manic Mommies Escape Weekend. Erin and Kristin host the weekly podcast Manic Mommies, sponsored by Chevrolet, for moms who are trying to do it all. (Okay, that officially includes ALL moms!) They started their podcast on a whim and now it is an extremely popular destination for women balancing deadlines, diaper duty, and day care. You can find it on iTunes and download it to listen to while in the car, at the gym, or walking the neighborhood. The most interesting fact about Manic Mommies is that Erin and Kristin handle everything from producing the show, booking guests, editing and mixing the show, Web site content and design, promotion, the email newsletter, and much more! They also organize Escape weekends for Moms as a way to connect with other moms and have some much needed fun!
The most exciting thing I have to share, with New Orleans Moms and Moms close to the New Orleans area, is the introduction of the Day Pass for Locals. Since it’s being held at the New Orleans Marriott on Canal Street they have a little extra space to fill with locals. On November 5, 2011, put on your purple and gold and make your way downtown to meet other Moms from across the country. The agenda is jammed packed with great speakers and events. Including test drives of new Chevy vehicles including the Corvette and Camaro! Yes you read that right! Here is the agenda for the Day Pass. Check out the great speakers and Mom U classes! Get a group of friends together and make a day out of it!
