When Surface Hair Care gave me the opportunity to choose a product for review, I did not hesitate when choosing the Push Styling Powder from the Surface Styling Collection. This past summer, I went on a cruise with 11 other ladies and included with 11 ladies is a ton of hair and make-up products! While we were getting ready for Captain’s Night we all took turns trying my friend’s Push Powder. It was amazing how it transformed flat and lifeless hair, giving it body and lift from the root. Everyone in our group had different hair textures, thickness, and styles but it worked for everyone. Honestly, I was hesitant about trying something new. I had just spent 45 minutes blow-drying my hair and almost an hour flat ironing it. There wouldn’t be time to start over and I didn’t want to spend the rest of the night with greasy hair surrounded by camera-crazed, Facebook tagging friends. I can’t tell you how many times I have tried a moose or spray that promises to lift your hair at the roots and give it body but have been left with greasy hair that looks more in the need of the a wash than a night on the town. Only after watching them use it and helping my friend fix her hair did I relent and try it. I’m so glad I did because now it’s my favorite hair care product!
I have very long and very thick hair. My hair dresser often jokes that she should charge me double because I have enough hair for more than two people. Because it’s long and thick, it is also heavy and it tends to flatten on top. With just a little bit of the Surface Hair Care Push Styling Powder I get the lift and volume that I want at the root without having to worry about looking like I haven’t washed my hair in a week. Here is a little info on the Push Powder:
- Amazing Root Lift
- Volume and Texture
- Use as Dry Shampoo
- Thicken hair and Stay in Control with the Newest Surface Styling Product!
I can’t wait to add other products from the Surface Styling Collection to my hair care routine. My friends in NOLA will surely appreciate the fact that they provide a resilient humidity resistant hold! In other words, they fight back the terrible effect that the humidity can have on your hair after you just invested so much time getting it just right! Sometimes when the humidity in the city is at its worst it’s not even worth putting the effort styling your hair just right because it frizzes as soon as you walk outside. They are also anti-frizz and anti-static!

DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!!! I am a hairdresser, and have been one for 27years. I purchased this product and tried it on myself, fortunately, before trying it on any clients. My hair instantly felt “weird” and I didn’t think much of it, should have washed it out and didn’t. BIG mistake. The product acted like acid in my hair. I initially didn’t know why my hair got fuzzy, I thought I had a medical condition, or that it was stress related. It didn’t occur to me for a couple of weeks, after much of my hair fell out, literally broke off of my head, I actually had stubble on my scalp, that it was Surface Push Powder. I applied the product to the top of my head/hair, and that was the only place that I lost my hair. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!!
Um, Christine Ferrairo, you must have had some strange allergic reaction because I’ve used it many times and it’s fine. It adds a matted texture to give volume and I like it for that to hold hair in place and add texture to it. No adverse reactions here and my hair person uses it and sells it and I’m sure if something serious like that happened they wouldn’t be selling it.
