  Today is a nostalgic Wordless Wednesday. This was me in 2nd grade! I was a page in a Mardi Gras parade with 4 of my cousins. This photo was taken at the annual ball where the court is presented.

Here in New Orleans the Jazz and Heritage Festival is a must attend event. This year, following the debut of HBO’s Treme’, the Mardi Gras Indians were very popular.  This was one of my favorite shots of their beautiful costumes. When this green sprout showed up I thought it was a weed and almost pulled it. A friend said she thought it would grow into a sunflower and to my surprise this flower is now in my garden!
